So lately I’ve been bouncing around a few different games, trying to figure out what I actually enjoy and what just annoys me. I don’t play a huge variety—mostly horror and multiplayer stuff—but here’s what’s been keeping me busy (or making me roll my eyes).
Dead by Daylight
This is my main game right now. I love the whole setup—killer vs. survivor, every match feels different, and the chaos can be fun. But the devs definitely lean killer-sided.
If you’re a survivor and finally find a perk that feels strong? Don’t get too comfortable, because killers complain and it gets nerfed. The Fog Bomb is a perfect example. When it first came out, it was actually useful—you could drop it and buy yourself a few seconds to escape. I played killer too, and you could still see survivors in it, but killers complained anyway. Now it only has two uses and honestly feels like a waste.
I keep playing DBD because there aren’t many games like it, but yeah… being a survivor can feel rough sometimes.
Friday the 13th
This one will always have a soft spot for me. Honestly, I liked it more than Dead by Daylight.
What made it so good was the fact you could actually fight back. Survivors had choices—you could fix a car and drive off, call the cops, just survive until the timer ran out, or even team up and try to kill Jason. It gave matches variety, and it never felt like you were just running in circles.
It was such a fun game, but the devs stopped updating it and eventually shut it down. I really believe if they had stuck with it, it could’ve been bigger than DBD. I’ve heard rumors about it maybe coming back through a different company, and if that happens, I’ll be jumping in for sure.
Among Us
Every now and then I’ll hop into Among Us. When you’re with friends, it’s hilarious—the lying, the chaos, the “I swear it wasn’t me!” moments.
But random lobbies? Yeah… those are a gamble. Sometimes the chat is weird, sometimes people rage quit, and it just kills the fun. Definitely one of those games that’s only worth it if you’ve got people you know playing.
Hogwarts Legacy
I gave Hogwarts Legacy a try and honestly—it’s beautiful. The details, the world, the spells—it’s all really well done. But I realized I’m not a big story-game person. I kind of need the chaos and unpredictability of multiplayer, so even though I liked exploring at first, I lost interest.
That’s pretty much what I’ve been into (or not into) lately. I stick mostly to horror games, and while some keep me hooked, others I fall off of quick. If you play any of these, let me know if you feel the same—or if I’m totally missing out on another game I should try.
